WBTV Charlotte NC eBike & Store Opening Interview
WBTV was ‘On Our Side’ today. We were interviewed about Electric Bicycles and our new store opening on September 1, 2020.
The host of WBTV’s QC Morning show, Jonathan Stacey, stopped by our new store location at the Rail Yard in the South End of Charlotte NC to ask us more about eBikes and our opening date.
He and the producer, Brian Stephenson, setup with their camera and audio gear to cover the event. We got all miked up and were happy to share our story at eBike Central.
We were also excited to have one of our awesome customers on hand to give a perspective of being an eBike owner and rider. Andrew was covered in one of our blog posts found here. He has lived in Charlotte for over 20 years with his family. He was on hand to add a customer and owner perspective for the segment.
Jonathan and eBike Central owner, Joe Michel, covered the topics of:
- What is an eBike and how does it work?
- Why we were establishing a new store in Charlotte?
- How will eBikes help people in the Charlotte area?
- How eBikes have helped people with physical disabilities get back on a bicycle?
Joe was able to go over a few eBikes in more detail including a GoCycle GX folding eBike, a Riese & Muller Culture GT full suspension urban eBike and a Yamaha Urban Rush drop bar road eBike.
Jonathan was also able to go for a test ride on the Riese & Muller Culture. Brian got to take a test ride too. Neither had ever been on an eBike and were smiling after their first ride. They were both very impressed with the natural feeling the Bosch eBike system felt in helping them during their ride. They were able to play with the Four Levels of assist which helps a little bit or a lot depending on the level chosen; Eco, Tour, Sport and Turbo modes.
Thanks to Jonathan and Brian for interviewing us! We are very passionate about the transformative effects an eBike has on our customers. We look forward to sharing our passion and products with the Queen City of Charlotte NC, and beyond!
