It was only a matter of time before eBikes would participate in formally organized Race Competitions.

Racing vehicles truly legitimizes them since the punishing competitions is one way to separate out the best products available. It also allows the manufacturers to try, test and learn from the races. Parts succeed or fail, then replaced and improved. All to the benefit of the consumer.

Here are some the races we are aware of:

Boogaloo
Troy Lee Designs and Bosch eBike Systems are proud to present the second BOOGALOO, a Class 1 Electric Mountain Bike (eMTB) Race Series. The race series will be held on four unique courses specifically designed for eMTB racers. Expect near vertical ascents, killer drops, obstacles, berms, and more that will take you and your eMTB to the limits of what you thought possible on two wheels.

UEC Formula E-Bike
The European Cycling Union (UEC), a federation of pro cycling governing bodies for the continent, announced at its annual meeting this week that it will create a new racing circuit for e-bikes in the 2019 season. Called the “UEC Formula E-Bike,” the new classification will include both e-road and e-mountain bikes.

E-ENDURO SERIES 2018
During 2017, Franco Monchiero and the newly founded Race Events organizer started the e-Enduro, a world first mountain bike race series exclusively dedicated to pedal assisted bikes.

EnduroCross eMTB race series
The first ever electric EnduroCross eMTB race series. It will be at events and in conjunction to the national indoor off-road AMA EnduroCross Series.
