Riese & Muller Packster 40, eCargo Flow!

Riese and Muller without a doubt makes among the finest two wheeled transportation vehicles ever.

The reason they have a reputation around transportation and vehicles in general is because they don’t just focus on a standard bicycle shape. Instead they focus on a solution.

The Packster and Load lines of eCargo Bikes the company is producing are specifically designed to extend and enhance your daily lifestyle without having to use a car. Unless you are traveling long distances of 15-20 miles or more, an eBike in general and an eCargo bike specifically will solve most of your daily errands.

The Packster models come in three lengths. The one highlighted here is the the Riese and Muller Packster 40 model. They can be custom ordered with different options for the load area, and two speeds as well. This is the Higher Speed, Class 3, 28 mph version.

In Cities and areas where car congestion is higher, a narrower bike with narrow handlebars are preferred. You don’t what to catch the end of your extended handlebars on a car, a car mirrors, signs, overhang and other miscellaneous city objects. The Packster 40 solves this by being more narrow then the bigger sizes, Packster 60 and Packster 80. Great part is there are size choices!

The Packster 40 offers an upright, one size fits all frame size. One great area of design, is the sliding seat post which extends at an angle backwards to extend the reach to the handlebars for taller riders.

The Brakes are phenomenal, but that is to be expected. Riese and Muller always select components based on the appropriate use of the right part in the right place, regardless of the price. They are not a price point company.

Shifting gears is done through a choice of Traditional or Nuvinci. The one we are testing has the Nuvinci system which is perfect for a vehicle that needs to be simple to operate. This is combined with either the Bosch eBike Systems motor, battery and display system. Similar the components in other eBike systems, no one is integrating them better the Bosch.
